Baby Boomer Forum Died of Technical Difficulties

come to the new baby boomer forum for women

by Tina Boomerina (Christina Gregoire)

Please come back later. The forum died because only a few people could log in. Waaaaah Waaaah Waaaaaaaah (that's me crying), but I will find an alternate venue for a forum. I may have to go to Facebook, but I will figure something out! I AM DETERMINED TO HAVE A FORUM.... whine, whine, sniff, sniff.

Right now I am fixing other technical problems on my website.... accccccchhhhhh! (the sound of an old white lady screaming...)

I have wanted a forum for baby boomer women for almost five years and I almost had one. WE finally had one. A place to bitch and moan… a place to help each other get through the most interesting third of our lives.

Terrible Tech Problems With Login!

NOTE: UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAD SO MANY TECHNICAL PROBLEMS THAT I FINALLY SAID, "ENOUGH." I will be moving the forum elsewhere. Almost no one could log on. Women got frustrated and left. I couldn't log on for ages, myself.

So, Stay Tuned. I will direct you to a new website or a Facebook page, which I may or may not make private.

Younger women are welcome to participate in the forum, too. We are happy to hear your points of view and happy to give you advice based on our older-and-wiser experiences. (Once you're on the forum, you're an honorary Boomerina.)

And... to paraphrase a Youngblood’s song from the 60s:

Come on people now

Smile on your sister

Everybody get together

Try to love one another

Right now

Come to the forum. Ain’t no haters… only love and understanding. (Bad people will be removed.) I know there’s a need for this forum because I’ve never seen anything like it. Let’s make this great. Sign up and tell us all about yourself. We all need a little help and understanding from our sister Boomerinas.

Tina Boomerina on Way to Oregon

Tina Boomerina is still unpacking boxes and trying to fix her new home. Nothing fits, need new couch 'cuz the dog ate the one we're using now.

I will be able to answer questions in the comment section, so you can still leave comments. It may take a bit longer to reply, but I'll do my best.

Thoughts on Moving:

1. Never move. It's a lot of work.
2. If you do move, make sure you never have to move again... and sell all your furniture before you move.

The forum died due to tech difficulties. I may start a FB forum instead. I love computers and I hate computers. We did everything we could to resuscitate the forum and nothing worked properly. Will let you know when I try something else. T

I am at the lower end of the boomers at 68 years old, and you are right, I've never seen a website for us. Thank you for taking precious time and effort to create (and oversee) this most welcomed place for us to have a voice. I would love to be part of this innovative forum.

Unfortunately, the forum sign-in would not work. Fortunately, I live in Oregon, an assisted suicide state, so we "offed" the forum. It's dead. I'm not happy about it but I've been working on other tech difficulties on the site for 3 weeks and enough is enough. Donations to your favorite charity should be made in lieu of flowers. Acccckkkkkk. I'm still bummed. We NEED a forum for boomers!

    Hi Tina,
My name is Kristen and I work for Pauline Durban, founder of Covered Perfectly. I wanted to reach out to and see if you would interested in joining a affiliate program with us. Please email me and let me know. We would love to continue to collaborate with you. Hope to hear from you soon!

    I'm leaving tomorrow.

The movers are coming and we're taking the desktop computer apart tonight, so you're on your own with the forum. You can still post and ask questions on the forum... but the forum is not yet lively and it needs a little help from me and my pals.

We still have to sell this house and buy a new one. I'll be disorganized to the max, but I can still answer comments when I have time.

GOD, I hate moving. However, I'm looking forward to started life afresh.

Welcome to Oregon. You'll love it here!

    • Jet

Mercy Maude Tina, where yah heading? Safe journeys my dear and tell us all your adventures when you return.

      • Tina-Boomerina

        Yo Jet,

We are trying to sell our house outside Seattle and hoping to buy a place in Bend Oregon. Right now we are couch surfing (on our granddaughter's bed) in Boise and staying with Ray's son.

We have not ruled out Arizona, but I think Eastern Oregon is a good compromise. Bend doesn't get quite as hot as Arizona and it's dryer than Seattle (which is good for arthritis).

I may write an article about the joys of living out of a suitcase in someone else's bedroom.

I'm finally able to answer comments because we didn't have enough bandwidth to use the wifi at the cheapie motel where we were last week. And, we stayed with a neighbor in Washington for a few days, but her house was so elegantly decorated that I didn't have a good space to put my laptops and other writing stuff.

I'm going through comments on my step-son's kitchen table. When his kids come for the week, I'll have to find another place to type. It's just weird not to have a permanent desk. And... at best... we may be living in Boise for 3 months. I hope not. I love my stepson but I hate living out of a suitcase.

Tina, I had a brainstorm. Why don't you offer your services as a house sitter? I have neighbors from Washington state that live here in Southern Arizona until May. Their houses and boats are empty for six months. I am sure there are others who are in need of having someone occupy their homes and keep little Fifi, the poodle and Ginger, the kitty company while they are away on vacations or at their second home. This way you can audition their decor for a laptop friendly environment for you to write and create and you can have your privacy and space. Craigslist may be a way to start, and just start asking around. If you include your search for places you may want to set up a new home that would just be clever thinking.

Small world that it is, I know two people who have either a second home in Bend, OR or are relocating there (from outside of LA). There are lots of pluses, including nice people and good shopping nearby. As awful as the anxiety of selling a home and going through two escrows, finding a new home and decorating it are so much fun. And although, it would be so nice to have you as a fellow desert dweller, the heat can be oppressive. So when you visit us, make sure it is before our long summers.

I look forward to your wry commentary on being a nomad. You are a boho boomerina, afterall, and the gypsy life is secondary to your character. I am sure you'll find humor in your situation and we will share your discoveries of life in the bosom of your extended family.

Sending you the warmest thoughts and comfort,

Best of luck with the moving...just relocated from Virginia to Oklahoma myself!
Always look forward to adventures but absolutely hate moving...ugh.
Look forward to hearing from you when you settle in...

    • Tina-Boomerina

Hi, I love the adventure. I hate the details.

I'm not going to be settled in for at least 3 months. I'm ready to scream. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Once I get everything moved, I'll never move again even if it's just down the street.

      Tina (ps how is Oklahoma?)

I would love to have you join the forum but it died due to technical complications. If I start another forum on a different WP theme, I'll let you know. I have wanted a forum for 5 years so I'm reasonably bummed about this.

Not a woman, but love the format

We can either do a Caitlyn Jenner, or we can make you an honorary Boomerina. I guess we'll have to call you a Boomerino.

Feel free to come back to the site and have a little fun just like the girls. Thanks for your show of support!
