Waist Hip Ratio – Fake the Perfect Female Body

by Tina Boomerina (Christina Gregoire)

If you weren’t born with that perfect waist-to-hip ratio, you’ll just have to fake it. Well, you don’t HAVE to, but you might WANT to if you are trying to look sexy in the Brave New Dating World or if you want to give the impression that you are younger, healthier, and more deliciously feminine than your younger sister. Ladies, here are a few clothing tips that just might help you... like wearing peplums.

Well, for the most part, your waist-to-hip ratio is whatever you were born with. I mean, you can gain or lose weight, and that can change your ratio somewhat, but you cannot change your genetics.  For example, I was born with an apple body. My booty-less shape was just made for boy-cut jeans, and nothing less than a rib removal or a pair of butt implants will make me curvy in the “right” places.

Waist-Hip Ratio and Health

According to Wikipedia, your waist-hip ratio (or WHR) “is the ratio of the circumference of the waist to that of the hips.” (Waist measurement divided by hip measurement.)

A good WHR is 0.7 for women. Well, my WHR is so bad I don’t even want to calculate it… and that’s not because I’ve gained weight from all my thyroid crap. My WHR has always been awful.

Anyway, a perfect waist-hip ratio (the golden mean of hourglass figures) is associated with fertility and health. If you have a score of 0.7, you have the right amount of estrogen coursing through your veins.

And that means you’re less likely to get diabetes than I am. It means you’re less likely to have other health problems, like heart attacks and ovarian cancer. So, changing the way your body looks will give people the impression you're healthier than you are.

My Estrogen Level

All of this makes sense to me. I had to take hormones to conceive my two daughters. Sure, I had all the right mothering instincts… but my body never received the right hormones when I was in utero or when I was young… or something… I’m not a freaking scientist…

Oh yeah... Having the right waist-hip ratio also means that men find you sexier. It’s a subconscious response that’s been genetically bred into guys through the eons. Well, just think like Darwin for a moment. Men who liked hips and booties were more likely to mate with women who were mega-fertile… and this preference evolved into a whole lot of little Sir Mix-a-Lots rappin’ Baby Got Back.

Sexy Women Have the Right Body Ratio

Every now and then I want to slap those women who complain about their big butts. Okay, “slap” is too strong a word. Strangle is what I meant. Damn it. Let’s inject some of your fat into my butt… and into my hips. (article continues)

Ok, firstly, I'm not yet 40(32), but I believe most of what u say should apply to anyone over 20 that wants to be thought of as a grown up. Secondly, as a plus size very curvy hourglass, I would he happy to share a few inches of butt. 48-25-54 is a bit excessive. I would be happy to share.

Where can I find that orange dress pictured under the "dresses with draping"?

    • Tina-Boomerina

Caitlyn, that dress is from The Vesty in the UK, but the dress is from last year or... well, at least a year ago. I'm sorry but I don't see it online anymore. I'll email you the link to the site and you might find something else. They ship to almost all the countries in the world I think.

Oh, I forgot to say that this article was written a while back... I love that dress. You might be able to find something similar if you go to some UK sites, because I've seen similar silhouettes in different colors. Don't know what it is called. Anyway, that's what I would try. And, see if you can find the dress on Vestry. Maybe I didn't look in the right area.

Wow, I wish this post would have kept going. My waist has always been 15 inches less that my hips. It doesn't matter if I am heavy or thin, it's just that. Finding clothes is a complete joke. I hate it. They do not make clothes to fit us at all. Oh, yes, we can wear sacks to cover our hips but that isn't doing ANYTHING for our figure. We are not fat. Society does not honor women that are hippy and having a small waist makes our hips look even bigger. Actually, it's a deformity. I also have saddlebags and will always have them. Even exercise doesn't really help. I have done it all. I am 62 and fought this all my life. Most people think that women built like this are lazy, but it usually just the opposite. We tend to be caring for everyone because we've learned that is what makes people happy and like us too. Plus, it's ok for women that have small hips to sit all day long if they want, it won't effect their social acceptance. They don't get the sigma that follows them the rest of their lives. It's a horrible thing to live with. We've been made fun of all our childhood and then when we get older, no clothes fit, our society is not forgiving because they don't understand that it's our structure that causes this. Never mind what most men think. It really doesn't matter. Oh it's said that men like small waisted, hippy women because of procreation but I don't believe that is the real reason. I would faint if I could put on a pair of pants that fit. Can you imagine? I can't. Sure we could get bloomers but how attractive are those? It doesn't just effect us socially, it effects us mentally too. And physically it's harder to get up out of sitting position, it causes more hip and back issues, and our arms have to help raise us out of a chair when our shoulders aren't as wide as our hips. There is not enough support for us. We need clothes that look descent on us. This dress you have shown looks really nice! Thanks for posting it. I hope you keep this post going. It would be such a blessing us that are suffering. Thanks, Joy
