Take Your Trend to the Beach: Swimsuits Follow Fashion Trends

swimsuits for old fat women

[continued from page 2]

I kind of like the snake print suit above. If you have gray hair, you should try something like this on. And, I can see that the print is very good for camouflage. Hey, snakes have had eons to come up with this pattern. It's very pretty.

Animal Print Beachwear and Bathing Suits

When I look at the photo above, I am reminded of how much I love leopard. While black-and-white zebra prints are too harsh for me, I do love love love leopard. I have two raincoats with leopard print. And, leopard is one of those things that looks better on older women than on younger women. Leopard is kind of "old Hollywood."

tribal prints for beach, pool, swimwear, summer

Tribal Print Bathing Suits

I didn't know if I liked tribal prints when the trend first started, but I'm starting to really get into the tribal groove. And, the tribal swimsuit and bag are totally me... and these rocking colors might be totally you. Sure the two items on the right are really wild together, but the colors and the patterns remind me of Janis Joplin's old Porsche. Of course, you'll want to wear a lot of neutrals with a wild combination like this. But, I can totally see some of you wearing these fun items in a place like Jamaica... or your backyard... or the beach... or Hawaii... or Mexico... or on a cruise... or...

I'm actually perking up. Really... I'm not just saying that. I don't know if I'll end up with one of these swimsuits or something else, but I am coming to realize that there are options out there that will help camouflage my fat tum. And, I know there is something out there for you.

Boho Hippie Beachwear for Women Over 50

I don't know why I like bohemian fashion so much. It could be because of the colors. It could be because of the patterns. Or it could be because hippie wear reminds me of an earlier, simpler time in my life. Whatever the reason, I do love floaty bohemian coverups and groovy patterned accessories. I think I must have been a gypsy in a former life.

    Hi there.
I was just wondering the brand of the turquoise one-peice swimsuit?
It is cute and will see if I can still find it somewhere.
    Thanks

Heather, if you mean the colorful turquoise suit in the main photo, it's from Fifty Plus (I think it's fiftyplus.co.uk) but they also sell some stuff in the US. I'm blanking on the name of the website, but if I think of it, I'll put the name here.

Unfortunately, the suit is from last season, so I don't know if they have it at this point. If I remember more, I'll leave a message. Try the UK site and see if they have it and if they ship to the US. A zillion sites have started shipping to American/international, which is great because now we can get cute European/UK styles.

Tina wear can I buy the fifty plus vintage flapper dress you have in the feature article cruising ?

  3. Tina-Boomerina

    Hi Denise,

Fifty Plus is a UK company, but I'll see if they still have the dress or if is sold in the US. I'm assuming two things: You live in the states. You're talking about this dress in the main photo of this article: http://boomerinas.com/2013/04/14/what-to-wear-for-cruise-dinners-formal-nights/

I want you to know that I wrote that article quite a while ago, but I think they may still carry that dress. I'll post the info here and I'll email you once I figure it out.

      Hi,

If I have the right dress, it's by Joanna Hope and you can find it on Marisota.com in the US. The only bummer is that it's almost sold out, so I'm going to email you right now with the link. It's a great plus-sized dress and it would rock at a wedding or on a cruise because the beading works a bit like camouflage.

I don't know what it looks like on, but it's very Gastby-esque in style.
